Will a spread in Vogue’s Fall Fashion issue really make Wal-Mart relevant to the “in” crowd?
Here is a money quote from John Fleming – Wal-Mart’s Chief Marketing Officer:
''We're looking to align with partners that are relevant to our customers.''
Ok. Sure. But your choice in doing this was Vogue? I don’t see it. I think this is a transparent attempt to play on the same field with Target – who is eating Wal-Mart’s lunch when it comes to designer fashion at reduced prices.
Weather it works or not Wal-Mart has deep pockets….and Vogue is happy to give them a designer look.
